NEDC DONATES LEARNING MATERIALS TO DOHO PILOT SCIENCE PRIMARY SCHOOL

The North East Development Commission (NEDC) has been making landmark strides to improve the quality of education in the North East region through the provision of effective facilities and special projects.
In line with the commission's mandates, the commission has donated learning materials to Doho Pilot Science Primary School in Kwami local government area of Gombe state.
The aim of this donation is to encourage students to read and develop their skills for a brighter future.
The learning materials included whiteboards, school bags loaded with exercise books, pencils, sharpeners, and rulers.
The acting coordinator of the commission in Gombe State, Alh Rufai Lawan Babamanu, led the team to distribute the learning materials to the school.
He highlights that the commission is committed to bridging the gap in education and ensuring that every child has access to quality education.
Babamanu also said the region had been left behind for several years, lacking infrastructural facilities and learning materials.
The commission's intervention is a quick response to this menace, and it is determined to do even more to improve the quality of education in the state as well as the entire region in particular.
Babamanu urged the students to put in more effort and read, as this will help the commission add more in line with its mandate.
In his response, Alh Abubakar Adam, who represented the state commissioner of education, said, "With the continued support rendered by the commission,
...the education sector in the North East region has witnessed significant improvement over the years.
The recent interventions executed by the commission in the field of education have been showcasing great development, and this led the community leaders to express their appreciation and be extremely grateful for the commission's efforts.
With the commission projects that have been executed for several years in the future, there is no doubt that the problems hampered by the education sector will soon be alleviated.
In attendance were the District Head of Doho, Alhaji Umar Mohd Magaj, the NEDC Director of Administration and Finance, Adamu Abdullahi Mashafi, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, and his team.
Other were the Representatives from SUBUB, the Education Secretary and the SBMC Chairman were also present during the distribution exercise.
