NEDC GRADUATES SOLAR INSTALLATION TRAINEES IN GOMBE

The North East Development Commission (NEDC) has taken a step towards bridging the gap between unemployed youth and available job opportunities. To this end, the commission has graduated 30 young people in Gombe State on solar photovoltaic system instillation.
The graduation ceremony of the trainees was held at the NITDA ICT Center, Gombe State University, on Saturday, May 11, 2024.
These young people were trained in the practical installation of solar photovoltaic systems and entrepreneurship development
The closing session of the training program started with a speech from the NEDC state coordinator, Alh Rufai Lawan Babamanu.
He called on the participants to put the opportunity and knowledge acquired during the training program into practice when engaging with the community.
Babamanu also thanked the commission, consultant, and many others for creating something meaningful that matched the needs of society.
The training program lasted for six days, and the participants were grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow.

One of the participants, Sarki Musa, expressed his appreciation to the commission and the facilitators for hosting this important training program.
He said that all participants gained in-depth knowledge on establishing and installing solar systems.
This training program was designed to equip young people with the necessary skills and knowledge to venture into the renewable energy industry.
The commission is continuing to equip young people with the necessary skills and knowledge to become entrepreneurs and job creators.
It is hoped that this will inspire other organizations to take similar steps towards reducing youth unemployment in Gombe, the North East region, as well as Nigeria at large.
