Alh Rufai Lawan Babamanu, the acting coordinator of the commission in Gombe State, presented a paper during a two-day workshop aimed at sensitizing civil society and community leaders on effective strategies to mitigate violent extremism in the region. The acting coordinator of the commission in Gombe, Alh Rufai Lawan Babamanu, attended a two-day sensitization workshop organized by the Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Center (CISLAC) in Gombe. He highlighted the importance of community-led efforts by leaders in mitigating the menace of terrorism. NSCDC COMMANDANT VISITS NEDC OFFICE IN GOMBE

By Isah Babayo  The Acting Coordinator of the North East Development Commission (NEDC) in Gombe State, Alhaji Rufai Lawan Babamanu, received a visit from the Commandant of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) in Gombe, Mr. Muazu Mohammed Bello. The familiarization visit aimed to strengthen collaboration between the commission and the NSCDC. During the visit, Babamanu expressed the need for the commission to engage the services of security personnel in order to achieve common goals, particularly during special interventions and other commission activities. The NSCDC Commandant, Mr. Bello, expressed his readiness to work with the commission to ensure the safety and security of the people during the commission activities in the North East. NEDC DONATES LEARNING MATERIALS TO DOHO PILOT SCIENCE PRIMARY SCHOOL

In line with the commission's mandates, the commission has donated learning materials to Doho Pilot Science Primary School in Kwami local government area of Gombe state. The aim of this donation is to encourage students to read and develop their skills for a brighter future. The learning materials included whiteboards, school bags loaded with exercise books, pencils, sharpeners, and rulers. JAURO ABARE SCHOOL HEAD EXTOLLED NEDC'S INVENTION PROJECTS

As part of its efforts to improve teaching and learning, the commission has donated learning materials to learners at JAURO Abare Primary School in Gombe. These materials included a Morden white board along with a cartoon of makers. To the students, school bags containing rulers, exercise books, sharpeners, pencils, and other important materials, as well as shoes, clothes,were all donated in the presence of NEDC's teams, SUBEB, the local government inspector of education, and school administrators, among others. NEDC GRADUATES SOLAR INSTALLATION TRAINEES IN GOMBE

By Isah Babayo The North East Development Commission (NEDC) has taken a step towards bridging the gap between unemployed youth and available job opportunities. To this end, the commission has graduated 30 young people in Gombe State on solar photovoltaic system instillation.  The graduation ceremony of the trainees was held at the NITDA ICT Center, Gombe State University, on Saturday, May 11, 2024. These young people were trained in the practical installation of solar photovoltaic systems and entrepreneurship development  The closing session of the training program started with a speech from the NEDC state coordinator, Alh Rufai Lawan Babamanu.  He called on the participants to put the opportunity and knowledge acquired during the training program into practice when engaging with the community.
