BABAMANU CALLS FOR SYNERGY WITH COMMUNITY LEADERS WILL HELP TO MITIGATE VIOLENT EXTREME IN THE NORTH EAST REGION
By Isah Babayo The North East Development Commission (NEDC) is an established body aimed at rebuilding and rehabilitating areas in the North East region of Nigeria that have been affected by the activities of the Boko Haram terrorist group. Alh Rufai Lawan Babamanu, the acting coordinator of the commission in Gombe State, presented a paper during a two-day workshop aimed at sensitizing civil society and community leaders on effective strategies to mitigate violent extremism in the region. Babamanu stresses the importance of forming a strong synergy between the key stakeholders in the community, as this collaborative approach would be instrumental in eradicating the menace of violent extremism and addressing the challenges faced by the affected communities.
