NEDC HANDOVER OF AGRICULTURAL FARM IMPLEMENTS TO GOMBE STATE GOVERNMENT

By Isah Babayo  The North East Development Commission (NEDC) has taken a great step towards improving agricultural activities in Gombe State as well as the entire North East region.  The commission has officially handed over agricultural inputs and farm implements to the state government, with the aim of empowering smallholder farmers and enhancing their livelihoods. Alh. Rufai Lawan Babamanu, the acting coordinator of the NEDC, formally presented the agricultural equipment during a ceremony attended by the Gombe State Commissioner of Agriculture and the Commissioner of Special Duties, Alh Shehu Yerima Abdullahi, who represented the state governor. NEDC BUILT A NEW BLOCK OF CLASSROOMS AT Y/DEBA PRIMARY SCHOOL IN GOMBE

By Isah Babayo  Hayin Maido Primary School is one of the lower basic education schools located in the Yemaltu Deba area of Gombe State, which has been plagued by a severe lack of adequate infrastructure and learning materials for many years. The school's dilapidated facilities and scarcity of essential teaching materials had long been a major hindrance to the quality of education provided to the students. The North East Development Commission visited the school, conducted an effective assessment, and recognized the urgent need to address these challenges. In its quick intervention response, the commission provided a new block of three classrooms to Hayin Maido Primary School, along with new chairs, whiteboards, and others. Interestingly, the students were gifted with learning materials, including school bags filled with exercise books, shoes, and many others. ANGO GOMBE CHAPTER VISITS NEDC'S STATE OFFICE

By Isah Babayo  In a significant move towards fostering collaboration and strengthening community development efforts, the Association of Non-governmental Organizations (ANGO) Gombe Chapter paid a courtesy visit to the Gombe State Office of the North East Development Commission (NEDC). The ANGO delegation, led by its chairman, Idris Maigari Lawanti, was warmly received by the acting coordinator of the NEDC Gombe State Office, Alh Rufai Lawan Babamanu. The visit provided an opportunity for both parties to discuss ways of enhancing their partnership and ensuring a more inclusive and results-based approach to the development of Gombe State and the North-East region at large. .By Isah Babayo  Tsangaya Model Primary School in Kumo, Akko Local Government Area of Gombe State, is one of the many schools that have benefited from the donations of learning materials provided by the North East Development Commission (NEDC). The recent donation of learning materials from the commission, which has provided the school with essential tools for their academic journey, will sharpen the students horizons. The donation included bags loaded with textbooks, notebooks, pencils, a set of new shoes, and a jacket T-shirt for the students. Additionally, the school received whiteboards and other teaching aids that will help enhance the learning environment.
