NEDC BUILT A NEW BLOCK OF CLASSROOMS AT Y/DEBA PRIMARY SCHOOL IN GOMBE

By Isah Babayo

Hayin Maido Primary School is one of the lower basic education schools located in the Yemaltu Deba area of Gombe State, which has been plagued by a severe lack of adequate infrastructure and learning materials for many years.

The school's dilapidated facilities and scarcity of essential teaching materials had long been a major hindrance to the quality of education provided to the students.

The North East Development Commission visited the school, conducted an effective assessment, and recognized the urgent need to address these challenges.

In its quick intervention response, the commission provided a new block of three classrooms to Hayin Maido Primary School, along with new chairs, whiteboards, and others.

Interestingly, the students were gifted with learning materials, including school bags filled with exercise books, shoes, and many others.

These provisions were aimed at creating a more conducive and supportive learning environment for the children at Hayin Maido Primary School.

The commissioning of the new classroom block was led by Alh Rufai Lawan Babamanu, the acting coordinator for the state of Gombe, accompanied by other prominent members of the commission.

During the ceremony, the Babamanu called upon the community leaders and stakeholders to lend their support and cooperation to the commission, ensuring the timely and effective implementation of similar interventions in other communities in need of special assistance.

The headmaster of the school, overjoyed by the commission's efforts, expressed his appreciation and conveyed his belief that this much-needed support would go a long way in transforming the state of education in the region.

The provision of new infrastructure facilities and learning materials at Hayin Maido Primary School was seen as a landmark stride towards addressing the longstanding challenges faced by the school and its students.

The commission's commitment to improving the educational landscape in the state, as exemplified at the Hayin Maido Primary School intervention, is no doubt something to be proud of.

This project was just the first step in a broader initiative to ensure that no child is left behind in their pursuit of knowledge for better future.
