NEDC HANDOVER OF AGRICULTURAL FARM IMPLEMENTS TO GOMBE STATE GOVERNMENT

The North East Development Commission (NEDC) has taken a great step towards improving agricultural activities in Gombe State as well as the entire North East region. 


The commission has officially handed over agricultural inputs and farm implements to the state government, with the aim of empowering smallholder farmers and enhancing their livelihoods.


Alh. Rufai Lawan Babamanu, the acting coordinator of the NEDC, formally presented the agricultural equipment during a ceremony attended by the Gombe State Commissioner of Agriculture and the Commissioner of Special Duties, Alh Shehu Yerima Abdullahi, who represented the state governor.


"These items have been provided by the North East Development Commission with the purpose of supporting the production efforts of our smallholder farmers and improving their overall standard of living," Babamanu explained.


Babamanu also highlights that "we are confident that these interventions will have an impact on the agricultural sector in Gombe State, and we are grateful for the commission's continued commitment to the development of our region."


The state commissioner of agriculture, Hon Barnabas Malle  expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the NEDC's ongoing support and collaboration with the state government.

 "We are grateful for the commission's dedication to the advancement of agriculture in Gombe State," he said.


"These agricultural inputs and implements will go a long way in empowering our farmers, enabling them to boost their productivity, which no doubt will increase their incomes."


The commissioner went on to assure the Gombe state NEDC coordinator that the items will be distributed to the most deserving farmers, ensuring that the benefits of the NEDC's intervention project reach those who need it the most.


"We are committed to ensuring that these implements are utilized effectively and efficiently, with the sole aim of uplifting the livelihoods of our smallholder farmers," he stated.


The NEDC's handover of the agricultural equipment indicates the commission's commitment to fostering sustainable development and food security in the North East region.

NEDC DONATES LEARNING MATERIALS TO DOHO PILOT SCIENCE PRIMARY SCHOOL

In line with the commission's mandates, the commission has donated learning materials to Doho Pilot Science Primary School in Kwami local government area of Gombe state. The aim of this donation is to encourage students to read and develop their skills for a brighter future. The learning materials included whiteboards, school bags loaded with exercise books, pencils, sharpeners, and rulers. JAURO ABARE SCHOOL HEAD EXTOLLED NEDC'S INVENTION PROJECTS

As part of its efforts to improve teaching and learning, the commission has donated learning materials to learners at JAURO Abare Primary School in Gombe. These materials included a Morden white board along with a cartoon of makers. To the students, school bags containing rulers, exercise books, sharpeners, pencils, and other important materials, as well as shoes, clothes,were all donated in the presence of NEDC's teams, SUBEB, the local government inspector of education, and school administrators, among others.
