SOLAR INSTALLATION TRAINEES COMMEND NEDC'S MD AND EDs FOR HISTORICAL EFFORTS

By Isah Babayo

You may recall that a few months ago, the North East Development Commission trained young people in six (6) states of the North East region on a solar installation program for a period of six days, which took place at the NITDA ICT Centre in Gombe State, where participants learned valuable skills in solar panel installation.

The trainees have been called upon to participate in the form of volunteers for the ongoing solar street light installation projects executed by the commission across various locations in Gombe State.

The trainees who participated in the installations at Emir Palace and Tashan Dukku were impressed by the dedication and support from the NEDC's Managing Director Mohammed Goni Alkali and Executive Director of Operations, Mr. Abdulsalam Ahmed Yahaya.

They expressed their appreciation to the NEDC's management for landmark stride efforts supporting their career all the time.

The volunteering opportunity for the ongoing solar installation projects in Gombe was facilitated by the NEDC Acting State Coordinator, Alh Rufai Lawan Babamanu.

Babamanu personally accompanied the trainees to the solar installation site and introduced them to contractors, where the trainees added more knowledge.

One of the trainees, Saidu Mohammed, said "this practical experience would be beneficial for their future careers and would contribute to their personal and community development.".

Saidu added that "other organizations should consider a similar youth program that will Carter and serve humanity for national development.".

NEDC is working tirelessly aimed at restoring the glory lost in the North East region.
