NEDC DISTRIBUTED STARTER PACKS TO TRAINEES ON SOLAR INSTALLATION AND BRIQUETTE PRODUCTION IN GOMBE
The North East Development Commission (NEDC) has been at the front line of driving positive change and empowering the youth in the region.
The commission's efforts in training and equipping young individuals have had a great impact on the local communities, with clear transformations being witnessed across the society.
In one of its recent programs for young people, the NEDC coordinator in Gombe State, Alh. Rufa'i Lawan Babamanu, led the presentation of starter packs to the trainees who had successfully completed a training program on solar installation and fabrication of energy-efficient stoves.
This training was held in Bauchi State with the aim of equipping the participants with skills that can help them secure a better future.
During the event, Babamanu stressed the NEDC's commitment to restoring the glory of the North-East region through various interventions and programs tailored to the specific needs of the people in the region with the hope of changing their lives through various intervention projects and youth programs by the commission.
He expressed appreciation to the NEDC Managing Director, Mohammed Goni Alkali, and the Executive Director of Operations, Mr. Abdulsalam Ahmed Yahaya, and other management in the commission for their landmark stride support and efforts in guiding the commission towards greater heights.
Babamanu further highlighted the impact of the training program, stating that it was designed to provide the participants with meaningful skills and tools that can positively impact their livelihoods today and beyond.
He urged the trainees to utilize the skills and equipment they had acquired in the best possible way, not only for their own benefit but also to train and empower others within their communities.
The Hon. Commissioner for Special Duties and Regional Intergration, Alh. Shehu Yerima Abdullahi, was deeply impressed by the commission's work and commended the commission and for its commitment to this cause.
Hon. Shehu expressed his delight in witnessing the young trainees demonstrate the practical skills they had acquired through the training program.
The commissioner's words sounded with the attendees, who were equally inspired by the success stories that emerged from the NEDC's interventions and youth programs.
"I really felt happy the way this young man demonstrated physically what they had learned during the training," remarked the commissioner, stressing the important impact of the commission's efforts in changing the young people's mindset through the various programs.
He further accented that the NEDC has been actively working to uplift the lives of the people in the region, and the training program has played a pivotal role in providing better employment opportunities for the youth, leading to an improved quality of life.
In his part, Mohammed Fawu, the Commissioner for Environment, Forestry, and Water Resources, also expressed his appreciation to the NEDC management for organizing this transformative training program.
He commended the commission's vision and urged them to continue their impactful work, stating that such interventions and programs are important in addressing the pressing issue of youth unemployment in the region.
The event was graced by the presence of other distinguished guests, including Hon. Modi D. Shelphedi, representing the Hon. Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, and Mohammed Mohammed Dalhatu, representing the Commissioner for Science, Innovation, and Technology. Katikan Shamaki Mohammed Inuwa Abubakar, the Commission’s Director Admin and Finance, Mr. Adamu Abdullahi Mashi Doho, a prominent figure in the state, were all in attendance.
Also present in the event were NEDC staff and desk officers from various ministries who were all in attendance during the event.
The North East Development Commission's interventions have undoubtedly made a remarkable impact on the region, transforming the region, providing landmark stride opportunities for the youth, and contributing to the socio-economic progress of the communities.
